Afternoon bus dismissals can be just as dangerous as morning pickups. Students are often tired, distracted, and in a rush to get home. Drivers may also be less attentive at the end of the school day.

Key Points:

Student visibility is the first line of defense – make sure kids are wearing reflective clothing or LED safety devices

• Bus drivers can see the bus perfectly, but children still need to be seen

Parent supervision at the curb can prevent unsafe crossing or running for the bus

• Educate students to stop, look, and make eye contact with the bus driver before stepping off the curb

It isn’t the bus that’s invisible—it’s your student. Protect them with visible, proactive safety tools.
