Q: What is the safest distance for students near a stopped bus?

A:

• Stand 10 feet from the curb or behind the safety line if marked

Face traffic and wait for the bus driver’s signal

Wear reflective or LED gear in low-light conditions

• Avoid sudden movements into the street or behind parked cars

Tip: The bus is highly visible, but children are not. Make them visible first.
