GA1-OH

Single White Flood + Ohio-Specific Undercarriage Mount

State-Specific Pedestrian Illumination for Ohio School Buses

The Gardian Angel GA1-OH is an Ohio-specific configuration of the GA1 Single Pedestrian Lighting System, designed with undercarriage mounting brackets for applications requiring this mounting configuration.

The system uses a high-output 1,000-lumen white LED floodlight to illuminate the pedestrian pathway at the front left side of the school bus.

The GA1-OH activates automatically with the bus’s red warning-light system, providing dedicated pedestrian illumination during the student loading and unloading sequence.

Designed specifically for Ohio school bus applications, the GA1-OH provides an affordable retrofit solution for existing fleets.

Designed for Ohio School Bus Applications

School bus lighting requirements and approved mounting configurations can vary from state to state.

The GA1-OH provides the same purpose-built pedestrian illumination as the standard GA1 while incorporating an undercarriage mounting configuration designed specifically for Ohio applications.

GA1-OH at a Glance

Single-Side Illumination

One white LED floodlight illuminates the pedestrian pathway at the front left side of the bus.

High-output white LED ground illumination.

Undercarriage Mount
Includes undercarriage mounting brackets for the Ohio-specific configuration.

18–20 Feet of Illumination
Creates an illuminated pathway approximately 6–8 feet wide with visibility extending approximately 18–20 feet from the bus.

Automatic Operation
Activates with the bus’s red warning lights.

12/24VDC
Designed for standard school bus electrical systems.

How the GA1-OH Works

01 — The Bus Stops

The school bus stops and the driver activates the red warning-light system.

02 — GA1-OH Illuminates

The GA1-OH automatically activates with the warning-light sequence.

03 — The Pedestrian Path Is Illuminated

The 1,000-lumen white LED floodlight casts a downward-directed ground wash onto the pedestrian pathway at the front left side of the bus.

04 — Students Enter or Exit

The illuminated pathway helps provide greater visibility while students walk to or from the school bus.

05 — Automatic Shutoff

When the bus service entrance door closes, the GA1-OH automatically turns off.

No additional switch. No additional driver action.

Purpose-Built Pedestrian Illumination

The GA1-OH is designed around the area where students walk when entering and exiting the school bus.

Its downward-directed white LED floodlight puts illumination on the pavement and pedestrian pathway rather than directly toward students.

Designed for the Loading Zone

  • 1,000 lumens of white LED illumination

  • Single-side pedestrian illumination

  • Downward-directed ground wash

  • Illuminated pathway approximately 6–8 feet wide

  • Visibility extending approximately 18–20 feet from the bus

  • Designed for daytime and nighttime visibility

  • Helps improve visibility during darkness and low-light conditions

  • Provides illumination during rain, snow, and challenging weather

  • Creates a visible pathway even during daylight conditions

Ohio-Specific Undercarriage Mounting

The defining feature of the GA1-OH configuration is its undercarriage mounting system.

The 1,000-lumen white LED floodlight is positioned at the undercarriage of the front left corner of the bus to illuminate the pedestrian pathway.

GA1-OH Includes

  • Ohio-specific undercarriage mounting brackets

  • One Gardian Angel 1,000-lumen white LED floodlight

  • Wiring harness

  • Required mounting hardware

The mounting configuration is designed specifically for the applicable Ohio application.

Automatic When Students Need It

The GA1-OH works with the existing school bus warning-light sequence.

When the red warning lights activate, the GA1-OH automatically turns on.

When the bus service entrance door closes, the system automatically turns off.

Built Around the Driver’s Workflow

The driver doesn’t need to:

  • Flip another switch

  • Remember to activate another system

  • Take an additional action during student loading

The GA1-OH works automatically as part of the loading sequence.

Built for School Bus Fleets

The GA1-OH was designed specifically for school transportation and engineered for the demanding environment of daily school bus operation.

Key Features

Designed to Work With Existing School Bus Equipment

The GA1-OH is designed to complement the safety equipment already used on school buses.

It does not replace existing equipment such as:

  • Red warning lights

  • Traditional stop arms

  • Extended stop arms

  • Illuminated signage

  • LiDAR / sensors

  • Crossing arms

  • Exterior camera systems

Instead, the GA1-OH adds a dedicated source of pedestrian illumination to the loading and unloading environment.

More Visibility. Ohio-Specific Mounting.

Installation & Compatibility

The GA1-OH is designed for installation on school buses requiring the Ohio-specific undercarriage mounting configuration.

Typical Installation

Installation time is approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on bus configuration.

Modern buses utilizing multiplex electrical systems may require additional installation procedures.

Installation should always follow applicable manufacturer and state requirements.
