Foreseeable Risk Does Not Pause During Summer Break

Risk does not follow the academic calendar.

While students may be out of school, planning for the next school year is already underway.

Summer is when routes are reviewed, procedures are reconsidered, and safety priorities are quietly reassessed.

Foreseeable risk at school bus stops exists regardless of whether buses are actively running.

This is precisely why effective mitigation decisions are often made months before students return.

Some districts use the summer period to evaluate whether previous controls adequately addressed known exposure points.

In those evaluations, visibility-focused safeguards, including systems like Gardian Angel, have been reviewed as part of preemptive planning rather than reactive change.

Risk mitigation is most effective when implemented before it is urgently needed.
